There are many autoresponders on the market which can make it very challenging to pick which one will suit your business.  As an internet marketer myself, I have multiple autoresponder mailing lists set up for different niches and I can say that a good email marketing campaign can be worth a good deal of money.

The pricing for iContact is one of the reasons why it is quickly dominating the other email autoresponders in the industry.  If you check Alexa rankings you will see that iContact has been rapidly increasing in popularity for all of 2009.  The reason for this is that it only costs $9.95 a month for the service for their introductory package.  With the competition all starting near $25 it doesn't allow any possibility for the little guy to get started, but with iContact they can start up relatively cheaply.  I make far more than $9.95 a month from my mailing list, if I sell a single product via my mailing list I just made $40 and that happens quite a few times a month. 

The other reason the pricing works is because you pay for what you need, if you need 25,000+ contacts you can still get a reasonable rate.  iContact got in the door by offering a high end solution to the biggest players in the marketing industry and as a result word has trickled down about their service.
